Paint your lips red for women's heart health Thursday and Friday

Mom_hearthealth The American Heart Association has a good deal to make Mommas -- and all women for that matter -- feel a little sexier this month. And, of course, they want to tell you how to keep your heart in shape. So on Thursday and Friday, cosmetologists and local survivors will be at various spots in St. Petersburg and Tampa applying lipstick and giving your information on how to stay heart healthy.

The Speak Up Stations will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday and at each, a cosmetologist and female heart survivor will be on hand to teach visitors how to advocate for their health. The cosmetologist helps women turn a shade of red as they apply red lipstick samples to women who visit the station.  Men who stop by will receive a red carnation with a heart-healthy message which they can give to a woman in their life.

And of course, don't forget that Friday is National Wear Red Day, in which everyone is urged to wear red and show support for preventing heart disease, the No. 1 killer of women.
