"Pregnant man" tells Barbara Walters he is pregnant again
The term celebrity is used loosley here because we probably wouldn't know who Thomas Beatie is except he was born a woman and had a sex change but kept his reproductive organs and became an instant media sensation. After giving birth to a daughter, Susan, on June 29, Beatie is now pregnant again and is due on June 12. Beatie, 34, has been married to his wife Nancy, 46, for five years. Nancy is lactating and she breastfeeds the baby.
Beatie, who still sports a mustache, delivered the news to Barbara Walters on her special, What is a Man, What is a Woman? Journey of a Pregnant Man, set to air Friday night on ABC. But she let the cat out of the bag a day early on her day job, The View. He told Walters that he still has concerns about his family's safety but that they are really just a traditional family. "We are a man, woman and child. It's ironic that we are so different but yet, we're just a family, just the same as anyone else," he said.
