Rihanna backlash is a bit disturbia
There's a bit of a backlash brewing for Rihanna.
Pop singer Chris Brown, 19, faces two felony charges for allegedly beating his girlfriend, the pop singer Rihanna, 21. She may be the victim of a boyfriend beating, but she was probably asking for it by making him angry, some of Chris Brown's teen fans say. And some mothers say she should lose her Cover Girl contract because taking back a man who beats you is a bad role model for young women. Even the moms who were calling for Brown to be kicked off the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards ballot also wanted Rihanna off as well.
In a recent survey of 200 teenagers by the Boston Public Health Commission, 46 percent said Rihanna was responsible for what happened; 52 percent said both bore responsibility, despite knowing that Rihanna’s injuries required hospital treatment.
This is a good dinner table debate to have, especially when you consider the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say 10 percent of teenagers report being hit or slapped by a boyfriend of girlfriend.
