Rock band, rock band, rock band
One night last month I came home tired and suffering from a migraine. I had no smile on my face and absolutely no will to have fun. My husband and kids rolled in from a party to find me alone in the dark, on the couch, resting my aching head. My 8-year-old sat down and draped her arm over me. She leaned in close and in the words of Jon Bon Bovi, she sang, "I'm a cowboy . . ."
I cracked up. In a deep voice, she went on: "Wanted . . . WANTED . . . dead or alive."
Seems she had spent the past couple of hours singing her heart out with the interactive music game Rock Band for Wii, and it raced to the top of her must-have list. Problem is, it costs nearly $200. That's almost as much as the Wii console!
So, my husband and I set the rules. Save your money and when you get close, we'll help you cover. Thing is, now I'm jonesing for the game. Hearing her voice singing songs I know is too much. I could have so much fun playing that with her. I mean, one line from Bon Jovi made me forget my migraine.
It's gotten to the point where I'm helping her reach her goal way too fast. I threw some of her sister's birthday money into the pot. I mean, she'll play it, too! In fact, when she was only at $30, I saw the game at Best Buy and nearly bought it. Finally, she reached her goal and I thought, hooray, this is the weekend we get Rock Band.
But noooooooooooooooo. She'll have to wait a litte longer. Me, too. See, Rock Band 2 is coming out in November!
