Ronde and Tiki Barber tackle reading

Barbers The conventional wisdom in the publishing world is that if you want big sales, target your books for girls, who actually read. That's the kind of talk that frustrates Bucs cornerback Ronde Barber and his brother, NBC broadcaster and retired running back Tiki Barber. The twin superstars have just finished their fifth book for kids, this one a tween-targeted chapter book called "Go Long"  and are on a tour to promote it.

In my interview with Ronde from the book tour, the former avid reader talked of haunting the library for hours, devouring the Hardy Boys mysteries or any books he could get his hands on, and trying hard to create books boys will like so that a lifelong habit takes hold.

You can read an excerpt from the book here. And if you are looking for boy-friendly book titles, check out the lists on Guys Read separated by ages and recommended by other guys.
