Scarlett Johansson fights tabs for girls' body image
My new celebrity girl crush is Scarlett Johansson for writing this scathing attack on the tabloids for promoting dangerous standards for female body images.
A few weeks ago, the New York Post's Page Six was reporting that she was wasting away to nothing and on a rigid diet.
ScarJo, who normally keeps a pretty low profile with her comments, said enough's enough. She's working out like a maniac and eating healthy to get into superhero shape for her part in Iron Man 2. She adds that it's tough because she loves her some grilled cheese. Bless her, that's what I want to hear. I hate when some Size 0 celebrity insists all she does is chase her toddler around. We don't want to hear that. We want to hear her muscles are sore and she's hungry for a burger.
Anyway, back to ScarJo, she goes on to say she's speaking out because, "I believe it's reckless and dangerous for these publications to sell the story that these are acceptable ways to looking like a 'movie star.'
"I would be absolutely mortified to discover that some 15-year-old girl in Kansas City read one of these 'articles' and decided she wasn't going to eat for a couple of weeks so she too could 'crash diet' and look like Scarlett Johansson."
I just hope some 15 year old reads that and starts thinking like Scarlett Johansson, the girl's got her head on straight. Pass the grilled cheese.
