Share your Halloween ideas for costumes, decorations, treats

halloweenbasket.jpgOctober is a busy month in my family and I've already spent all my creative capitol throwing a Fear Factor party for my October birthday boy. So I'm pooped and in need of a creativity infusion as Halloween approaches.  I'm looking for fun costume ideas (kids or adults). Maybe I should take my own  advice and hold a costume swap with some friends and neighbors. But I'm also on the lookout for cool traditions in your family or neighborhood. And how about a dinner that night -- one that won't take long to get on the table and might actually balance out the sugar coma?

You can find a pumpkin patch or costume party near you in our Things to Do site. It's amazing the shear number of events going on right now. I also love all the fall festivals and trunk or treat parties at local churches.

And we can't forget the pumpkin. I love pumpkin carving but the darn heat in Florida turns them to mush in just a few days. One solution is this Mr. Potato Head set for pumpkins. Here's some advice from a hand surgeon on how not to end up in his waiting room. But I prefer to get my inspiration from Extreme Pumpkins.

So what are your suggestions for fun costumes and fun traditions?
