Soccer net recall
A foldable soccer net that has been sold since 2002 is under a voluntarily recall by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission after a Texas child became tangled in the net last year and died.
The goal is sold under the MacGregor and Mitre brand names that have nets with a 5-inch grid; those with a 4-inch grid are not included in the recall, according to this report on NPR.org. The nets were sold in toy and sports stores nationwide and also in Wal-Mart and Ace Hardware.
Check the nets in your backyard to see if they have the 5-inch grid. They can be returned to Regent Sports Corp. of Hauppauge, N.Y. for replacement.
