Whoa, Momma!

Summer camps still have openings

If you're still on the lookout for camps before school starts, then here are a couple of options still open with weeks that go late into the summer. And don't forget to check the extensive list of camps we prepared and you still have lots of time to rate your child's summer camp.

Mom_makeup It’s not too late for a sweet and sassy summer camp for your aspiring divas. Sweet and Sassy, a salon for kids at 7928 Gunn Highway in Tampa, is offering a “Summer Dreams” summer camp which runs weekly Tuesday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. until Aug. 21. Girls can talk fashion, learn dance, cheering, manners and etiquette and participate in runway shows, all in the glittery salon. There are still spots available as well as other events and summer specials on salon services. Get all of the sweet details by calling (813) 792-5437.

And here's another camp we heard about from our friend Christine: Camp Isla at the Isla del Sol Yacht and Country Club in St. Petersburg still has some openings. The kids swim, fish, watch movies, play tennis -- it's an action-packed camp. Christine says her son enjoyed the camp. And like Sweet and Sassy, Camp Isla offers something that not many other camps have -- dates until Aug. 21. Fees are $160 per child (non-club member) and hours are 10 a.m.-3 p.m. with before (8-10 a.m.) and after (3-5 p.m.) care offered for $5 per hour per child. If you're looking for something for your kids ages 6-16 to do in the reamining weeks of summer, this could be it.
