Whoa, Momma!

Theme song for your kid? Say yes

Do you have a theme song for any of your children? Or am I just the freak who, in those early weeks after both my girls were born, discovered a song that matched each one? I would sing to them on long nights with no sleep. Even now, the music brings back memories of rocking my first born in the wee hours while my husband was at work.

Mom_dixiechicks Both songs are written in a romantic way, but if you set that aside, each articulates motherly feelings. My 8-year-old's song (Dixie Chicks' "Cowboy Take Me Away") came on the other day, and I told her, this is your song! "I remember," she said. No way, I thought. "Set me free oh I pray, Closer to heaven above and Closer to you." My 2-year-old's song (Rascal Flatts' "Bless the Broken Road") is similar. "Every long lost dream led me to where you are."

And I know you won't believe me when I say I'm not a huge country music fan. Oh well. If you're with me on the theme song, chime in please!
