Whoa, Momma!

Two events -- one for kids, one for parents -- coming up in Tampa this week

Hey Mommas, get your week started off right with a couple of coll events -- one for the kids and one for you.

Mom_dinosaurwalk1 First up,  the North Tampa Branch Library is hosting a free hour of fun with dinosaurs at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Dinosaur Day includes making a dinosaur suncatcher, getting a prehistoric tattoo (don't worry, it's temporary) and a coloring activity that could lead to four free tickets to the Walking With Dinosaurs event that begins Oct. 14 at the St. Pete Times Forum. Dinosaur Day will be in the library's community room, 8916 N Boulevard, Tampa. Call (813)273-3652 for more info.

Next, if you are searching for the perfect babysitter, Sitter Soiree may be just right for you. At Sitter Soiree, parents can quickly meet about 15 college-aged babysitters who want to take care of the tots while mom and dad enjoy a date night or upcoming holiday party. Parents leave the soiree with a booklet containing the sitters’ names, pictures, resumes and references. And while parents get to check out the sitters — and vice versa — various boutiques set up shop during the event and offer 10 percent discounts. The event, which is at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Thursday, costs $30 per adult or $56 if you bring a friend. Check it out at the Level2 Salon, 732 S Village Circle, Tampa. For information, call (813) 785-8484.
