Update: Spaces still available for sweet Valentine's Day child care deal at Lowry Park Zoo

Mom_zootigercubsUPDATE: If you're still looking for a spot to park the kids while you go out with your significant other this Valentine's Day weekend, Lowry Park Zoo has spots available.

An instructor was added for Saturday to accommodate greater demand for that night and there are still many spaces available for Sunday night, said Rachel Nelson, the zoo's public relations director. Get cracking, though, because online registration is scheduled to end at noon Friday.

Pre-registration is required. Visit the Zoo's web site (, then select the education tab - registration page, choose “Programs & Classes,” then select “Parent’s Night Out” and the desired date.  For questions about registering for this or other Zoo School programs,  call (813) 935-8552 ext 268.

If you've been searching for a sitter for one day on Valentine's Day weekend, then this deal at the Lowry Park Zoo might be just what you're looking for. From 4:30-10:30 p.m. on Feb. 13 and Feb. 14, the Zoo School staff will provide child care for kids ages 1-12 at a special Parent's Night Out. And the cost is $30 for the first child and $10 for each additional sibling. That seems like a pretty good deal to me. The zoo will supply entertainment, pizza and drinks for parents so that you can enjoy your evening out. Pre-registration is required. For questions about registering for this or other Zoo School programs, call 813-935-8552 ext 268. And on Feb. 14, the zoo will host it's always popular $5 Day at the Zoo. We love this day but always suggest you get there early.
