What's new at the Florida theme parks this summer?
Summer vacation season is almost upon us and the Things to Do in Tampa Bay team has put together a great package of what's new in the Florida theme parks this year. It starts off, of course, with the nifty new Cheetah Hunt rollercoaster at Busch Gardens with three, count 'em THREE launches. But as our reviewer Sean Daly notes, it's a cool ride but is not near as scary as ShieKra on Montu. That was great news to my 8 year old. Since the ride limit is 48 inches, he can't wait to climb aboard.
Among the other highlights are:
-- You can see a video of the whole Cheetah Hunt ride.
--The newly revamped Star Tours experience gives Star Wars fans 54 ways to geek out. See our review of the experience from one such geek.
--Read here to find out how major tweeks have made the Disney experience more magical.
--See how the Lego Imagnination store has been juiced up.
--Find out about the zip line that will take brave souls cross a pit of alligators.
--Along with the new rollercoaster, Busch Gardens has also added a cheetah habitat that provides some aww-inspiring looks at these beautiful cats, and that adorable baby cheetah, right.
--A review of the Star Tours makeover and Disney's Hollywood Studios.
--Universal is replacing the Jimmy Neutron ride with one themed for the film Despicable Me.
