Would you turn your kid in or lawyer up?
You simply must read this incredibly thoughtful column by Sue Carlton on the case of Nicholas Lindsey, 16, accused of gunning down St. Petersburg police Officer David Crawford. It was Lindsey's parents who are shown on the police tape talking him into confessing and doing the right thing. They are shown assuring the sobbing young man that they still love him no matter what but he needs to come clean.
Could you do that, or would you lawyer up and do your best to make sure your child wouldn't spend the rest of his life in prison or on death row?
