Whoa, Momma!

Yikes -- We're going unplugged!

Lakelouisa We're taking a few days over our spring break to check out what I hear is a beautiful chain of lakes near Orlando called Lake Louisa State Park. I decided I'm tired of the hard work of tent camping so we are going with a cabin. That's what attracted us to Lake Louisa. They have beautiful new cabins with a fully stocked kitchen, two bathrooms and air conditioning. As you can see here and below.

So we aren't going totally mountain man. But we are going unplugged. To quote the park's Web site:

"Other typical hotel features intentionally missing from the cabins are telephones, televisions, Internet connections, radios and clocks. The cabins were designed without these amenities to encourage guests to explore the natural beauty of the state park."

Cabins We might bring a boombox for music, but otherwise we're going gonzo. No GameBoys, no DVD players and I doubt I'll be able to get cell phone service from there. Why do I have this panicky feeling that I'll need some methadone-like gadget to get us through the withdrawal of a few days without a blinking light to occupy us in the wilderness?
