Cast your vote for favorite movie president
Friday's release of Oliver Stone's W. got me thinking about other presidents portrayed in movies. Well, the movie plus an editor who thought it would be a good idea if I would think and write about them.

Anyway, I did, and it turned out fun, and streamlined since Hollywood mostly gambles on the Roosevelts, Kennedy, Nixon and Lincoln. Not too many movies about James K. Polk and Rutherford B. Hayes out there, you know? Other chief executives were notably played once, maybe twice (Charlton Heston as Andrew Jackson in The Buccaneer and The President's Lady; Alexander Knox in (Woodrow) Wilson).
But I picked 10 presidents with ample representation in feature films and TV movies. No, I didn't include Morgan Freeman in Deep Impact or Jeff Bridges in The Contender although I'd vote for either, if they weren't fictional. Then I chose the best portrayal of each president, and their running mates, err, runners-up.
The list will be published on Etc. Page 2B in the next couple days. But I'm opening to your suggestions for the best presidential performances right here. Whaddaya think?
