Celebrating Sunshine Week
Happy FOI Day!
That's Freedom of Information, and today marks the U.S. recognition of the importance of protecting that freedom. Today is part of "Sunshine Week" as well, as in government that operates "in the sunshine" instead of behind doors closed to the press and the public results in better, safer democracy. Look in today's St. Petersburg Times to find a story about the Florida Legislature meeting about a proposed law. Tell the readers of the NIE Blogging Zone why the public should know what is being said about that issue.
