In the know. In the Times.

Chances are, you are not the only one taking swimming lessons this summer.  Gracie the otter, found orphaned in Brandon earlier this spring, has been getting swimming lessons at The Florida Aquarium in Tampa.  Just like you, Gracie had to be taught how to swim.  She should have learned from her mother, but instead biologists at the Florida Aquarium have been working hard over the past three months to coax her into the water.  Check out the pictures on page 1B of today’s Times, or go to video.tampabay.com to see her jump in after a smelt.  Were you scared of swimming the first time you tried?  How long did it take you to learn to jump into the water without fear?  Share your summer swimming stories with us.
