Chilean miner fights to complete NYC Marathon
Just weeks after being trapped underground in a collapsed mine for over two months, Edison Pena crossed the finish line at the New York City Marathon. Typically, people train for up to six months with professional running coaches and support groups before running a marathon. Not Edison Pena, he practiced jogging up and down crumbling mine shafts in the dark and all by himself. His marathon finish was not easy nor was it without injury, but he still finished nonetheless. Read about his accomplishment on page 5A of today’s Times and tell us how inspired you are to complete your goals here on our blog!
