In danger endangered panthers

The Times reported today that another Florida panther has died as the result of a hit and run accident.  Four panthers actually, if you count the three unborn kittens that died in the mother panther’s womb.  No one has reported seeing the panther get hit by a car, and no one has admitted to the accident.  The Florida panther is an endangered species and it is estimated that there are 200 or less of them alive in South Florida wildlands. Have you been following along with the Dead Cat Walking stories this year? Check out the interactive report on and read today's story, “Pregnant Florida panther struck by car dies,” on page 5B. Do you wonder if there is anything else we can do to save these large cats from extinction?  Let us know your ideas here on our blog.
