Falling from grace
In the know. In the Times.
We all have role models: people that we look up to, people who we want to be like when we grow up. But what happens when those people end up not being who we thought they were? Over the past few years, many professional athletes have had to come clean about using performance enhancing drugs and failing drug tests after international sporting events. An article in today’s Times reminds us of just a few of those athletes, and calls attention to the recent admission of guilt by cyclist Floyd Landis. Read “The lies that jade us” on page 1C of the sports section. Have any of your role models ever fallen from grace? How did that make you feel? Share your experiences here.
