No more books?

In the know. In the Times.

How heavy is your bookbag?  If you attend Clearwater High School, it’s about to get a whole lot lighter.  They are opting to use handheld electronic gadgets, called Kindles or e-readers, instead of traditional books next year.  The Kindles only weigh 10 ounces, and have the ability to store digital versions of textbooks, access the Internet, and scan newspapers and magazines.  Students can also “write” and “highlight” text on the Kindle, something they would normally do in the margins of a traditional textbook.  Read all about Clearwater High’s technological transition on the front page of today’s Times!  Tell us your thoughts about this new technology.
