Day of rest?

The Rays were due back from the desert shortly after midnight and most team personnel will enjoy Thursday's off-day.
But there could also be a lot going on today, albeit behind the scenes.

A) CF Rocco Baldelli is scheduled to be evaluated by Dr. Koco Eaton, which will give the Rays a better idea of how long Baldelli will be out following his latest hamstring problem. It could be up to another six weeks.

B)Executive VP Andrew Friedman is likely to be burning up his BlackBerry trying to find a team willing to trade for troubled OF Elijah Dukes, or he could opt to designate Dukes for assignment and decide what to do with him later.

C) Manager Joe Maddon and pitching coach Jim Hickey were to decide on the flight home whether to keep the rotation intact or skip Edwin Jackson's turn on Sunday.
