Thoughts and memories from Chuck ...

Former Rays GM Chuck LaMar, now the Phillies director of pro scouting, reflects on his time with the  Rays - "I gave my heart and soul to them" - in a Philadelphia Daily News piece today.
One of his more interesting quotes was this assessment of the current Rays squad: "We put a nucleus of very good players on the field. I think this year and next year people in baseball are going to realize what a good job of scouting we did."

And Colorado's Troy Tulowitzki offers some more praise about fellow Long Beach State product Evan Longoria in this Denver Post piece, saying: “He has some of the quickest hands I’ve ever seen. I have no doubt that he will hit (in the big leagues).''
