Home in the Dome
The Rays returned to the Trop today to start a season-high 10-game homestand, starting with the Orioles the next three games.
The two clubs are the surprises of the AL East, both doing it in similar fashion; strong pitching, defense and timely hitting.
The Rays will have the services of closer Troy Percival, who tweaked his left hamstring on Tuesday, but said it feels fine now. When asked if he had tested out the hamstring, Percival quipped, "It felt all right on the third hole yesterday."
The pre-game clubhouse buzz was about the Rays recent appearance on the cover of Sports Illustrated, a comic illustration of Carl Crawford lifting Derek Jeter over his head, titled "Bizarro Baseball."
