On scene in Oakland, day two

As the Rays seek a follow-up to Monday's 13-inning win, they will start Tuesday without 2B Akinori Iwamura, who is getting his oft-delayed day off. Ben Zobrist will start at second, and Jason Bartlett will be in the leadoff spot.

There is still a lot of talk this afternoon about Evan Longoria's heady play last night when he picked up a bunt and picked off Kurt Suzuki, who had rounded second too widely.

Si_coverweb_3 Also, the Rays will - sort of - be on the cover of the upcoming edition of Sports Illustrated, with a cartoon of a Rays player (who is supposed to be Carl Crawford) lifting up a Yankees player (who is suppoosed to be Derek Jeter) under the headline: BIZARRO BASEBALL.

Also, Edwin Jackson skipped his usual between-starts workout on Tuesday and will be available in the bullpen since the Rays are a bit short after the 13-inning game on Monday. Whether Jackson pitches or not, he will still make his start as scheduled on schedule Saturday.
