Crawford reaches milestone: 300th stolen base
Carl Crawford put himself in some elite company Monday with another stolen base.
Crawford's first-inning steal against the Royals gave him 23 on the season and 300 for his career. The 26-year-old outfielder is just the ninth player since 1900 to reach 300 before the age of 27, joining Rickey Henderson, Ty Cobb, Tim Raines, Vince Coleman, Cesar Cedeno, Clyde Milan, Eddie Collins and Sherry Magee.
After Crawford stole second, he advanced to third on a throwing error by Royals catcher John Buck. While he was standing on third, the Trop scoreboard revealed the accomplishment to the fans, who gave him a standing ovation. Crawford tipped his cap to the fans, and then scored on an Evan Longoria single.
