Rays looking left

With no players coming or going, the Rays had a relatively quiet afternoon.

And with righthander Justin Duchscherer starting for Oakland, the Rays are leaning left tonight with their lineup and hoping to make some noise.

As for the news roundup, SS Jason Bartlett (bruised right index finger) made a lot of progress and though he is still not throwing normally could be used in the field tonight and return to the lineup Thursday, though Friday might still be the better bet; OF Rocco Baldelli came through his extended seven-innng performance on Tuesday fine and could start at least at DH again a righthander this weekend, and LF Carl Crawford is set to undergo surgery on his right hand Thursday afternoon.
