Tastes bitter
Tigers manager Jim Leyland was fuming after the game. A gem of a performance by starter Armando Galarraga (seven innings, four hits, one run) had been squandered, as had two late-inning leads. He'd barked at home plate Jim Joyce as Fernando Rodney flailed in the decisive 10th.
So his post-game interview lasted 17 seconds. And it wasn't because the fried chicken and Caesar salad on his plastic plate was so alluring.
“I’ll just tell all of you: say whatever you want and write whatever you want. That’s all I got for you today. You guys write about it. You saw it. Write whatever you want. Report whatever you want. See you later,” he said before biting into a chicken leg.
No one moved.
“See you later,” he said.
