Crawford will play
Carl Crawford will be on the postseason roster and will start in leftfield Thursday, manager Joe Maddon said.
Crawford has been recovering from Aug. 14 surgery on his right hand and was impressive in two instructional league games.
Crawford likely will not bat in his usual No. 2 spot, however, and will be lower in the order.
