Selig disses St. Pete City Council
St. Petersburg City Council Chairman Jamie Bennett was dying to meet Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig this evening after he heard that Selig was sitting in a suite near the city's suite.
So Bennett led council members Karl Nurse, Wengay Newton, Jim Kennedy and Bill Dudley to Selig's suite but was denied admission. Selig was too busy, his handlers said.
"They said he might come over later," Bennett said.
Does Bennett think it will happen?
No, he said.
Meanwhile, County Comissioner Ronnie Duncan said he had no problem meeting Selig.
"We were both in the bathroom."
