ST. PETERSBURG -- The World Series trophy went on display to the public at 11 a.m. today at City Hall, and Rays fans lined up out the door for a chance to take a peek and snap a quick photo.

Tji_trophydetail_450 The Commissioner's Trophy, pictured at right (click to enlarge), was made by Tiffany & Co. and was shipped to St. Petersburg from New York. It's made of sterling silver and gold plate, is 24 inches tall and weighs 30 pounds. It includes 30 golden pennants atop 30 silver posts, one for each team in Major League Baseball.

The trophy will be on display in Room 100 at City Hall, 175 Fifth St. N, until 4 p.m. Bring your own camera to take a picture of the trophy or stand beside it for a snapshot -- but don't even think about hoisting it. That honor must be earned.
