Will Joe Maddon be rewarded today?
Rays manager Joe Maddon, already honored by several organizations, including the Sporting News, for his role in the club’s turnaround from worst in the majors to the World Series, is an overwhelming favorite to receive his biggest award today when the Baseball Writers’ Association of America announces its American League manager of the year.
It would be the first such honor for the Rays, who already claimed one major award Monday when third baseman Evan Longoria was named AL rookie of the year.
