Longoria feeling better; assuming he's out of WBC

Evan Longoria, who missed Wednesday's workout due to discomfort following a wisdom tooth extraction, said this morning he's feeling a lot better.

Longoria said getting held out Wednesday was more of a precaution, to give him another day of rest, and that he'll just have to deal with the pain until it subsides.

One other thing Longoria should find out soon is whether he's on the final roster for the World Baseball Classic. Longoria, on the U.S. provisional roster, said though he doesn't know for sure, he's "under my own assumption that I'm not gonna play and I’ll take the necessary time to get myself ready for the season."

Longoria said he last spoke with manager Davey Johnson last week, but hasn't heard back regarding his status.

With third basemen Chipper Jones and David Wright already on the roster, Longoria thinks they are just going "based off seniority."

“Those guys were chosen before me and I think if they want to play they’re probably going to be the two guys that’ll be on the roster," he said.

Also...INF Ray Olmedo, a minor league invitee who was the only player to not arrive on time due to visa issues, was in camp today.
