Salas traded to Indians

FEBRUARY 19, 2009

RHP Juan Salas, designated for assignment on Feb. 12, has been traded to the Cleveland Indians for minor league second baseman Isaias Velasquez.

Velasquez, 20, was named to the New York-Penn League (A) All-Star Team at Mahoning Valley, where he batted .281 (68-242) with 40 runs scored in 64 games.
