For starters, Rays at Jays
UPDATE, 3:52: Jays win 3-1. Not much news post-game, as manager Joe Maddon was relatively pleased with the work of both Carlos Hernandez and Jason Hammel, and the team's overall play. the Rays are now 7-7 in Grapefruit League play.
UPDATE, 2:34: Hernandez's day is done, replaced by Brian Shouse. Hernandez allowed three runs on four hits and walked three.
UPDATE, 2:30: The Rays got their first run as Adam Kennedy singled, stole second and scored on a single to center by Justin Ruggiano.
UPDATE, 2:12: The Rays just got their first hit, as Shawn Riggans singled to left-center with two outs in the fourth. And they just can't get any luck, as Reid Brignac's hard grounder to right struck Riggans on the leg for the third out.
UPDATE, 1:58: Hernandez is struggling, walking the first two hitters of the third and then allowing three straight hits - a two-run double down the leftield line to Emaus, a single to Adam Lind, and an RBI single to Kevin Millar. Jays lead 3-0, and it could have been worse and Shawn Riggans picked a runner and 3B Adam Kennedy leaped to spear a line drive for the third out.
UPDATE, 1:38: Hernandez started the second with a leadoff walk, but got out of trouble again, thanks in part to a nice snare of a line drive by 2B Reid Brignac. The Rays don't have a hit through two innings against Jays starter Brett Cecil.
UPDATE, 1:25: Rays starter Carlos Hernandez did a good job getting out of trouble in the first inning after Brad Emaus tripled with a fly ball over the head of CF Elliot Johnson.
UPDATE, 12:08: Not much news from Joe Maddon's pre-game session, though he did say Jason Isringhausen will make his exhibition debut on Sunday. "I'm really looking forward to it,'' Maddon said. David Price is scheduled for his next outing Monday night in Bradenton.
Also, Matt Joyce, sidelined all spring by right lower leg tenditinis, is tentatively scheduled to make his exhibition debut as the DH on Thursday.
