Zobrist tops AL leaderboard

JUNE 18, 2009

INF Ben Zobrist – yes, Ben Zobrist - is now leading the AL with a 1.080 OPS and a .665 slugging pct.
After hitting five times Thursday, Zobrist had enough plate appearances (3.1 per team game) to qualify for the leaderboard, and immediately went to the top, trailing only Albert Pujols for the MLB lead.
