INF Reid Brignac called up by Tampa Bay Rays

The Tampa Bay Rays have recalled INF Reid Brignac from Triple-A Durham, giving them more depth in the infield.

With DH Pat Burrell leaving Friday's game with a neck injury, this gives the Rays another position player available, with Willy Aybar the likely fill-in at DH.

The Rays had a roster spot open when they optioned RHP Jeff Bennett to Triple-A Durham Friday night. Despite earlier reports by mlb.com, RHP Chad Bradford has not been activated from the disabled list.

Brignac was up with the Rays earlier this season, playing in 21 games and hitting .271.
