Alex Rodriguez's 7 RBI in the sixth an American League record

When Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez racked up seven RBI in their 10-run sixth-inning rally, he set a new American League record.

Rodriguez first hit a three-run homer off Rays rookie RHP Wade Davis. And then, with two outs, he ripped a grand slam off RHP Andy Sonnanstine, giving him 30 homers on the season.

The only other time a player has had more than seven RBI in an inning was Fernando Tatis, who tallied eight on April 23, 1999 with the Cardinals.
