For now, "there's a chance" of a game tonight in New York

UPDATE, 5:44: There won't be any batting practice so, going against usual postseason rules, they are going to open the clubhouses to the media for a while.

UPDATE, 5:31: It's raining very heavily now. Angels manager Mike Scioscia is in the interview room talking about how the ground is going to be damp no matter when they play.

DEVELOPING: It's raining lightly, the skies are gray and the forecast remains threatening, but as of now they are planning to play Game 6 of the ALCS tonight here in New York.

The Yankees announced the gates will open as scheduled at 5 p.m. and manager Joe Girardi said "there's a chance" the storms will push through.

The forecast calls for an 80-90 percent chance of rain much of the night.

But as of a few minutes ago, Girardi said: "We believe there's a chance we're going to play tonight. ... There's a chance it's going to push through. Now, as we all know, weather can change very quickly around here. A week ago we didn't think we were going to play a couple of games and the weather stayed away completely. From what I understand there's a chance it could push through and we're going to play."

If the game is postponed, it would be played Sunday night, with a potential Game 7 on Monday night.
