Forecast improving and plan - for now - is to play

UPDATE, 8:09: The game started on time, with a first-pitch temperature of 47 degrees. The weather radar still looks bad, but the storm has slowed so it may be a race of whether the game is finshed before the rain starts.

UPDATE, 4:32: The Yankees will stick with what worked in the last round and start Jose Molina behind the plate tonight with A.J. Burnett pitching, and Hideki Matsui at DH, meaning veteran Jose Posada is again on the bench.

DEVELOPING: The forecast for this evening is improving, with the heavier rains now not expected until around 10 p.m. according to weather.com, and the plan appears to be to play as planned. The Yankees have just announced that the gates will open as scheduled at 4:30, and the grounds crew removed the tarp that was on overnight and is setting the field up for batting practice.
