Preparing for Game 3, with Sabathia set for Game 4
The skies are threatening (again!) but as of now the plans are for Game 3 to go on as scheduled - remembering the last World Series game in Philadelphia was the conclusion of the suspended Game 5 with the Rays and Phillies last year.
The big news before Saturday's game was who will start Sunday for the Yankees, with manager Joe Girardi commiting to LHP ace CC Sabathia on three days rest rather than ex-Ray RHP Chad Gaudin. Girardi said Gaudin could still start Game 5 on Monday as he wasn't committed yet to using RHP A.J. Burnett on short rest.
Girardi also chose to return slumping Nick Swisher (.114 for the postseason) to rightfield, having used Jerry Hairston in Game 2.
Also, the Phillies said reserve INF Greg Dobbs, who was sent home from New York due to the flu, was feeling better and would be available tonight.
