Does the Philly Inquirer know something we don't?

AP_PX101_WORLD_SERIES_OPTIM
Last week it was mlb.com sellling Yankees' AL Championship merchandise before the Yankees and Angels played Game 6 of the ALCS.

Today, it's the Philadelphia Inquirer running a 3/4 page ad for Macy's congratulating the Phillies for winning back-to-back World Series championships. The ad features a Phillies bacl-to-back champions T-shirt ($25), and included instructions to "show your Phillies pride and celebrate their World Series win."

It wasn't a show of confidence that the Phillies were about to come back from the 3-1 deficit, but a mistake, and the paper issued an apology.

"A Macy's advertisement in today's Inquirer incorrectly offered Phillies 2009 World Championship merchandise,'' said Howard Griffin, Vice President, National Advertising. "The Inquirer deeply regrets this error. Macy's is a great corporate citizen, supporter of this region and our sports teams. We apologize for this error and any inconvenience this caused.''
