Tampa Bay Rays

For starters: Rays vs. Rangers with Smith replacing Kiermaier, Snell starting

UPDATE, 4:05: Here is the Rangers lineup:

Choo DH, Profar 6, Mazara 9, Beltre 5, Gallo 3, Nunez 7, Chirinos 2, Kiner-Falefa 4, Tocci 8, Perez 1

With the bad news now official that CF Kevin Kiermaier is expected to miss three months due to a torn ligament in his right thumb, the Rays turn their focus back to the field tonight as they take on the Rangers at 7:10.

Mallex Smith moves to centerfield to replace Kiermaier tonight, with Carlos Gomez staying in right and Johnny Field starting in left. With the Rangers starting the first of three lefties, the Rays have Rob Refsnyder as the DH.

LHP Blake Snell will be on the mound for the Rays, coming off a good – though not great – start in Chicago.

Here is the Rays lineup:

Hechavarria ss
Gomez rf
Cron 1b
Ramos c
Robertson 2b
