LHP Anthony Banda will rejoin the Rays and start Tuesday against the Royals.

Banda, the most advanced of the four prospects acquired in the Steven Souza Jr. trade to Arizona, was called up as the 26th man on Saturday but didn't pitch.

Banda was 4-2, 3.50 in seven starts at Triple-A Durham. he pitched in eight big-league games last year for Arizona, going 2-3, 5.96.

Wood, who was up earlier with the Rays briefly, is 1-1, 4.96 in 10 games at Durham. He takes the place of Andrew Kittredge, who was sent down after Sunday's 17-1 loss.

The Rays will make another move after Monday's game to make room on the roster for Banda.
