Tampa Bay Rays

For starters: Rays at Yankees, looking to avoid a four-game sweep

UPDATE, 1:01: Cash said they still have some talking to do, but Adames will be back at SS starting Monday and that Hechavarria likely won't be used anywhere but short so it seems pretty clear he will be on the bench. … And it still seems likely that the Rays are looking to trade Hechavarria, especially with Daniel Robertson aiming to come off the DL on Friday. … Cash said Arroyo was bothered for a few days by the oblique tightness and aggravated it Friday. … Cash said they are looking to use an opener on Monday but wouldn't know until after today's game who it will be.

UPDATE, 11:37: Interesting decision by the Rays to move Adames to 2B today and reinstall Hechavarria at SS as he came off DL following Arroyo injury.

Here is the Rays lineup:
Duffy 3b
Bauers 1b
Ramos c
Cron dh
Adames 2b
Hechavarria ss
Gomez rf
Refsnyder lf

Font p

UPDATE, 11:28: Former Devil Rays manager Lou Piniella and player Johnny Damon and John Flaherty were part of the Yankees Old-Timers’ Day crew.

Here is the Yankees lineup:
Hicks cf
Judge rf
Gregorius ss
Stanton lf
Bird dh
Sanchez c
Andujar 3b
Walker 1b
Torres 2b
Sabathia p

DEVELOPING: The Rays are trying to avoid being swept out of New York today when the face the Yankees for the fourth straight day, with first pitch at 2:05.

The Rays will use RHP Wilmer Font to open today's game, and likely a series of relievers to cover the rest of the innings, with LHP Vidal Nuno and RHPs Matt Andriese and Diego Castillo among the more likely options.

The Yankees are starting veteran LHP CC Sabathia, who has been throwing well since coming off the DL.

Today is Old-Timers' Day at Yankee Stadium so there is no pre-game work on the field.

Lineups when available.
