Three Rays pitchers were included on national team rosters to represent their countries in the March World Baseball Classic.

LHP Jose Alvarado, a hard-thrower who has yet to pitch above the Class A level, will be a reliever for Venezuela, though he said he may only participate in the first round.

RHP Chris Archer will be one of the top starters for Team USA, which plays March 10-12 in Miami, along with friend Marcus Stroman of the Blue Jays.

RHP Alex Colome will be one of several experienced relievers in the bullpen for the Dominican Republic team.

RHP Jose De Leon, the talented prospect acquired last month fron the Dodgers for Logan Forsythe, is on the reserve list - the designated pitchers pool - for the Puerto Rican team and could be added for the second or third rounds.

A nunber of former Rays are also slated to participate, including RHP Ernesto Frieri (Colombia), OF Sam Fuld (Israel), LHPs Jake McGee and Drew Smyly (USA), C Rene Rivera (Puerto Rico), RHPs Fernando Rodney and Enny Romero (Dominican Republic).
