Second-round pick OF Granden Goetzman, of Palmetto High, became the 20th, and highest chosen, of the Rays 60 draft selections to sign.

“It’s electric just standing here,’’ Goetzman said on the field pre-game. “This is the goal.’’

Goetzman said he wanted to sign early and start playing, with plans to report to Port Charlotte and join the Gulf Coast League team.

“I think it’s a good start to have that under my belt'' he said.  "This is the start of my dream. Like I said Tropicana field is the goal.’’
