Casanova stepping in right away

Newly recalled C Raul Casanova's fight to Toronto was delayed in Cincinnati, but he arrived north of the border this morning and will start tonight's game against the Blue Jays at the Rogers Center.

Tonight also marks the major league debut of RHP Andy Sonnanstine. And Casanova has experience catching Sonnanstine in Triple-A Durham, so Casanova receiving the start tonight seems natural.

Otherwise, the dome roof is closed 45 minutes before gametime. It was a chilly and windy day here in Toronto, hardly worthy of being called a summer afternoon.

Another thing to note, at least two Devil Rays players noted that it seemed dark here at Rogers Center during batting practice. That might be something to watch as the series progresses.

Here's the Rays lineup:
Dukes, CF
Upton, 2B
Crawford, LF
Norton, DH
Pena, 1B
Wigginton, 3B
Young, RF
Casanova, C
Harris, SS
