Chances of Angels landing Friedman are "slim," according to L.A. Times
While the Angels remain highly-interested in Rays executive vice president Andrew Friedman - and reportedly would offer him a team president role - the Los Angeles Times reported today that the chances are "slim" he could be lured away.
The Times, citing unnamed people familiar with the team's GM search, say the Angels biggest obstacle in getting Friedman to leave is his loyalty to Tampa Bay principal owner Stuart Sternberg.
Friedman met with Angels owner Arte Moreno last week in St. Petersburg. Both he, and the Rays, have declined to comment, saying it's their policy not to discuss such matters. The Angels are hoping to have a new GM in place by early next week, according to the Times.
